I never thought about or had a reason to use Safe Haven. The way I learned that using Safe Haven was actually a violation of HOS is because the guys in TransAm training told me it was during my first safety class.

There maybe some DM who don't understand safe haven, but I never felt TransAm wanted me to drive illegal. Just the opposite, I am willing to cut it close and push my clock to the very last minute and I get annoyed by messages from my DM telling me to stop and take a break before I reach a destination.

 

This wont work with our new pay system. We are now paid for all miles driven through Thursday at midnight. And the satellite starts blasting your inbox if you dont send your paperwork in within 12 hours of your empty call. And if you still procrastinate a day or two, then Cathy in payroll starts calling you.

Passport~ Explain to me how to do multiple quotes ...please ...I am doing something wrong and not getting it to work.

I thought about going back through the thread and putting some of the recent information, (directions, etc.) on one post that might come in handy ....rather than to look back through 100 pages trying to find a specific address.

 

Passport has some good suggestions but..... remember that the dm's will ONLY pass on the info they want to!!!!

 

Exactly! So many of the problems with TransAm are because of the DM's and dispatchers .....especially nights/weekends. If you are lucky you will get a DM with trucking experience, but they are few and far between at TA now. The best you can hope for is one that you can work with and work around. Many of them have no idea what the regulations are for Safe Haven, personal conveyance, etc. .....the driver is far more educated and aware because his ability to make a living depends on it .....a dispatcher's ability to make a living depends on getting the freight from point A to point B on a schedule.

I copy and paste one quote into notepad. Then hit the "reply with quote" on a second post, go back and grab first quote from where I saved it in notepad, paste it in, so now I have two quotes in one post.

Thanks! I will give it a try. I have been thinking about all of the information everyone has posted about directions to different shippers and receivers. We need to have a way to get it all in one place but still within the TransAm thread .....any ideas?
