As I passing some rigs a thought popped up. To help pay for the fuel has any O\O ever thought of leasing space on your truck? Get paid to drive..
I mean there is a ton more space on a truck than a car, also you guys roam all over the roads. What do you all think?

if you want to buy it I'm selling!

usually when you see signs on trailers it's because they are hauling a regular contract with that company. I've never heard of anyone paying for it but my trailer would look like a nascar racer if they were

Well I wasn't thinking of the trailer since yes normally everyone is hauling a specific companies trailer.. I was thinking more of the truck itself. Yeah the Nascar look is exactly what I'm picturing. Might be pretty cool.
Guess I wil have to try it one day.

The guy who does our commercial signs had a contract for a national company to put full length banners on trailers. It was very expensive (2500 plus monthly charge) and with weather and wind didn't work out very good. The company folded I think.

My company does this right now with it's van trailers. They sell them just like a billboard or something. Once the deal is up it gets removed. It actually looks good and even running up here in the winter with all the slush and salt and crud they don't peel or anything. Some of the banners are pretty good and others are not but it generates money and also protects the finish on the trailers. People around now are even starting to get those vehicle wraps done to their leased cars to protect the finish. At the end of the lease the wrap comes off and the car still looks like it did on day one! I imagine it would be the same for a truck. You just have to have a place that knows what they are doing put it on or you will run into problems with peeling and such.

Here is an example of one of our trailers with the banners:

This one happens to be a tourism ad for the county but we have several others as well.

Well i'm not sure exactly what company does it for us. Maybe our shop does it themself... I'm not sure on that as I pull flatbed 98% of the time but they turn out really well and the snow and salt from the winter driving don't seem to have much effect on them. The only time I've seen some of ours that were peeled or damaged were clearly because of abuse where the trailer had been run into something, but especially if it's your own trailer or truck you shouldn't have much problem with that hopefully.

This might not be a bad idea for the tractor even. Lot of hood space there with a classic pete or frieghtliner... Write to the Mid size national companies and see what they say. Worst case is you lost some time writing one form letter to send out. Could also work on a lesser scale for local and regional work. Things that make you go.......Hmmmm?$?$?

Just over a year ago we had two of our tractors and two trailers decked out with "Coors Light" logos and the whole works, they looked like Coors Light trucks. I believe they were even used in one of their commercials on TV as well. Those trucks are now back to normal now as the banners were removed after the end of the deal.
