Not easy to get. I got denied all the way through and would have had to take the Social Security Administration to federal court to try and get it. Never mind the fact that I could not stand, walk or sit for anything beyond half an hour, I was still deemed able to work and denied. Now that I am finally recovered and back to work, I'd like to be able to tell the feds where to stick it on paying social security, since I got denied when I needed it. 7 years is a #### long time to go without being able to earn a living. There are other people that go even longer because they have been denied.

Pot does NOT lead to "bigger" drugs. That is a myth perpetrated by the anti-drug groups. It will only do that with people that have trouble with addictions to begin with. I smoked pot when I was younger, and never felt the urge to try anything else. I was also on prescription pain meds for 7 years and as soon as the preliminary recovery period following my back surgery was over (about 2 - 3 weeks) those meds were gone with no issues. Not everyone gets addicted to drugs, and not everyone that smokes pot goes on to "bigger" drugs.

Very true lilbit, many people are misinformed about pot. It's less harmful then cigs and alcohol yet is illegal. Pot can't kill you, it's a PROVEN FACT! Alcohol can, so can cigs. With information so readily available in our times thats why we are seeing it become decriminalized and being regulated.

I think people that move to harder drugs from pot is more just being exposed to the harder drugs, why would someone move on to other drugs from pot if they could buy pot from a nice store instead of going to a drug dealers home or wherever and have them entice with harder mor illicit drugs

Where did you get this info from??? No doctor has ever stated such after researching pot. Did you know your body naturally produces a form of thc? Educate yourself with facts not propaganda

I am telling you right now that WEED IS NOTHING AND DOES NOT POSE A DANGER. I work for a non-profit organization called NORML. You may not have heard of them considering your stance against this "horrible drug" but there are thousands of politicians, Police officers, scientists, doctors, etc that support the legalization of marijuana.

    Example - http://www.marijuanamajority.com

EDIT: oh and if your are looking at this from a religion point of view.....Why would god put a plant on this earth that grows NATURALLY if it was not intended to be used. It is the only "drug" that is not processed in any way at all. You can literally pick it right off the plant and use it. No alterations. No chemical additives. no nothing

Amen. Ive actually tried a few other drugs. Heroin to be one of them (didnt know what I was doing at the time....young stupidity) and I didnt like it. Same with coke. Marijuana is not a gateway drug. Technically there is no such thing as a gateway drug. Its all a matter of each individuals tendencies and if you have an addictive personality

Tell that to my friend's kid who was hit by an idiot high on cannabis. The idiot was so inebriated that he didn't even know he hit her, running the red light and throwing her 20 feet then ended up in a park a block away, hitting some children's play ground equipment. He admitted he used a small amount of cannabis just before getting into the car of which he seemed to justify it. He didn't care she had to learn how to walk and speak again and brought up this very type of proof as defense in court.

I support using it for medical purposes, especially for Cancer and other diseases where pain is an issue but for leisurely use, forget it especially with the amount of idiots we have in this country who seem ot to be able to control themselves with simple pleasures and how they seem to justify outlawing it by some of their stupid actions.

we each metabolize drugs differently, i don't think you can generalize people with drugs and alcohol

i grew up in a house with a hard core chain smoker, now i can't even handle second hand smoke when walking on city sidewalks

i have one ####tail and i am down for the count so i don't even want a drink

i know alcoholics who are definitely on the road to self-destruction but they don't hurt anyone else because they are functional drunks, they know how to handle their particular habit, i almost married a drunk who seemed hell bent on getting into trouble only when he was high

my brother was killed by a drunk driver, i don't tell people not to drink, i sure don't rave against alcohol use, i know--it's legal, but pot is increasingly becoming legal, alcohol did not used to be legal

i used to work with full-on computer geniuses who came to work stoned on pot, seemed to stay that way all day and were the most productive, reliable workers in the company, other folks cannot tolerate it so they should not do it, but it should always be left up to the individual adult's decision

so if someone takes a drug-legal or not-and then injures/kills someone out of negligence (or even comes close to doing so) while using that drug, then for sure they should be punished for that lapse in judgment big time, throw the book at 'em with automatic jail time/rehab, etc., but let's not punish everyone and condemn and pre-judge other folks just because of our lowest common denominators
