Well it never fails the ones that say this state sucks or that one sucks are usually not from there. I live in Fl now but grew up in NJ and did alot of driving up there, also NYC. I'd go back there anytime. to Carolina_Beaver_Teaser, I think the original posters point to this thread was watch out for the deceiving road signs if you ever go to that particular shipper.

I've had some pretty bad experiences in PA myself and have to agree with the majority that PA does suck. They put their no truck restriction signs way down the road past the point of no return just to make revenue. So do other states but it seemed to me PA was extra bad.

I never had any problems with MI either.

Those 102 signs can be a real killer, I live in PA and there's a town about 35 minutes away built up like a New England town, rotary and all. Nothing over 28 1/2' and no 102's. It's on a state route and the only sign is about a mile from the town. I laugh every time I see a trailer heading out of town on that route. Oh and a P.S. those 5 ton bridges are bad news too, we had a bridge collapse here before xmas when a penndot truck rolled over it plowing. Those signs really do mean 5 ton limit apparently.

PA is not all hard of a state to drive in, if you do your trip planning. The truckers atlas has 95% of the restricted routes listed. At any of the rest areas PA gives out truck route maps.

You new drivers just need to learn how to use the front pages of that road atlas.
