It's not a city thing, though.
The GPS is satellite, above the earth.
Not like cell phones, where you need to be near a transmitter.
But I've not heard anything in the news or other sources about it.
I know... It's a cover-up beneath a conspiracy displacing a low-level assault on our very existence.
The ####roaches have finally declared war! -
Happens in mine too, sometimes not always if go back to the menu/stops in the trip and pick another destination then reroute to actual destination it will put me back on the right road. -
I've had continous problems with it thinking I am off route/off road....took an hour for it to figure out I was on the I5 in northern Oregon(Portland) not in some bfe mountain road kept saying I was offroad and in mountainous area.....shuts down(freezes) at critical moments....is quite persistent in routing me the most annoying way possible...I don't think it understands straightest truck route possible....thing aggravates me....if it was mine id throw it out of the window.....piece of crap...geez

Zero problems today (with either the RM or QC), so I hope it was just a system malfunction or update.
It seems they may use the same GPS stuff in orbit.
I really need to update the maps, but with my luck as soon as I do the unit will break and I'll need to buy a new 520.
$100 for map updates, or around $300 for the 520 with lifetime map updates - and other cool features.
I want a 520, but I need a new computer before I get it. -
I've tried the QC GPS only a couple of times, and I didn't like it. I much prefer my RM.
When my RM had no signal I fired up the QC navigation just to see, and that's when I noticed that neither had a signal.
No problems since a couple days ago, however, on either unit.
I duplicated my logs on paper for that one day, so now I'll wait to see if I need to scan it in for Swift. -
I've had problems with the nav 'freezing'. Thursday it took it a while to figure out I DID turn off the freeway and was now heading up the next road. It caught up within a few miles. Always a bit disturbing though.
In Texas, the roads are too close together and I'll be on the wrong one for miles before it realizes it. But every single weigh station or rest area is "out of route"! And it's totally unaware of an entire portion of NW Edmonton. I wish I had the money for a truckers GPS, but for now Google Maps is my only backup. -
my quallcom kept me out of route for almost 100 miles yesterday on the I40, today I had no problems at all
