I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic, so pardon the interruption if it belongs somewhere else.

Has anybody used a Yeti, or another high-dollar cooler/ice chest? They are between 300 and 400 bucks, depending on which one you get. I'm just wondering if they are actually worth that kind of money. For that kind of money, I would hope that it would hold a sack of ice for at least a week. Any opinions would be appreciated!

Yes they are very much worth the money. You will be amazed at how long it holds ice.

    Jakaby Thanks this.

They are also made to withstand a lot of abuse.

I'm tempted to try one, because I have a friend that swears by them. I'm inherently cheap though. LOL

How long would it hold ice? Are we talking days?

Don't know about a month or 2, but they'll be keeping ice solid longer than others, long after you've spent over $300 replacing cheap coolers.

A 12V refrigerater/freezer is cheaper. And you don't have to worry about ice. Mine is 11 years old and while it looks rough, it works fine.

I've got my trusty 12v that's been humming right along, or at least until I get finished typing this since I probably just jinxed myself. And I agree. Dollar for dollar, it's probably better just to stay with ole trusty.

I have a Coleman that I'm going to drill holes into and squirt some spray foam into the walls.
