OTR company's concerned about your health?
You should ask that bozo how good it is to breath in diesel fumes all day. And the fumes of propane tanks on docks. Not to mention all the plastic fumes in the truck that is slowly putting nails in you coffin.
Driving OTR is unhealthy period, fat or skinny, and I doubt there is much concern for the drivers health, but lots of it for the bottom line. Which is understandable. But why not just say it, instead of that we care line of bull?

bmi is garbage. i served in the air force w/ guys that were at least medicine man's size and could do anything asked of them. in order to get around the bmi rules, they would actually get measured by the doc to measure their actual body fat percentage. can't base someone's health on height and weight alone, especially when muscle weighs more than fat.

Although you may be physically capable of driving the truck, are you able to climb in and out of the trailer, and if needed tailgate the freight, and or unload it? Can you walk across the parking lot without needing to stop and rest, can you regularly lift your arms above your head?
I must say this is my favorite part. This guy's probably 60yo and 350 pounds. I'd like to see this guy shovel asphalt for 8 hours on a 100 degree day with me or go work out in the woods with the logging crews. I almost gaurantee I can do more than he can or most folks. Sure I'm not in the best shape of my life but even when I was I wouldn't hit a 40% BMI.

You know I'm just playing with ya buddy. I just didn't want to kick this horse anymore. By the way; I'm in the same boat as you. I went to a division one college on a football scholarship, but never in my life has my BMI been below 40%. I am now 6'5" and 290 pounds. 15 years ago when I was in college, I was 245 and built like a linebacker(because I was a linebacker...lol). -

But wait for the Democrats to get into power. -
BMI is to be used , well heck,
Pretty much, if you are overweight, don't apply there, they seem to want skinny smokers rather than healthy fat people. -
At least I now know that no one who is "built for comfort, not for speed" need apply at De Bores. De be boring folks anyhow! -
not like we are gay or smething "cool"

Then of course the insurance industry will want to get in on the act, and decide to set rates based on your BMI.
