Holy cow, that test was easy, but I was sweatin bullets! Really, like a bad comedy skit, sweat dripping off me the whole time, lol. After my 18 week course, I am done! Now I'm all lined up with a 39 CPM regional gig with a relatively small fleet (less than 100 trucks) and a terminal 10 minutes from my house. Things are going better than I expected, lol.
I don't really have a question, I'm just really excited, lol.
Road test passed!

Good 4 U and have a wonderful blessed life make sure you take nothing for granted and keep reading on this forum just to make sure you are up to date on what happens when people get involved in accidents and tickets and treat their CDLs Like toilet paper by not paying attention when they are driving.Your CDL is your pay check the more raise's you seek the cleaner your CDL should look. The More points you have on it ,the less pay you will take home.Don't ever let anyone push you around and ask you to back in to hole "DOCK" that you feel is too tight always get out and look even if it takes you longer than other drivers and always ask for help backing up in to a dock or in a parking spot until you feel you are confident you can do it.Get off the cruise control when the weather is bad and slow down to a speed where you feel comfortable driving just put the fourways on and ignore the wise remarks that other drivers behind you are saying.KEEP YOUR RECORD CLEAN
Happy Trails. As soon as you can afford it get you a rand mcnally gps. A lot of accidents happens when you are trying to make U turns because you can't find the hole in the wall shipper/receivers yards. -
Congratulations, Chase05! I had to do a driving test last week with the company who is hiring me on. I sure was nervous as well, though it too went well. Ditto on what Casual Trucker recommended for you (though I wouldn't have thought of much of what he recommended since I'm not officially a trucker yet)!
Chase05 Thanks this. -
Thanks Casual. Truck GPS is going to be a very early investment, and the Rand McNally seems to have good reviews on here. As for the clean record, I plan to keep that, lol. I've never been a wreckless driver, but I slow down a bit faster now, don't speed much on the highways. No way I wanna look for a driving job with marks all over my MVR. Just sucks I'll have to actually take cabs home from the bar now, lol.

Haha, thanks. Good luck to you with your new career too. You going for one of the big companies or something smaller?
-
I'm going with Superior Carriers who haul tanks. They're on the smaller side (compared to Swift, Werner,...) at roughly 800 trucks I believe. Haven't officially been given the word about entering their training program yet. Had a company physical along with the driving test last Friday, and am waiting on the drug test results. Anxiously looking forward as are you Chase!
