I'd have never signed the paper in the first place. Would have probably drafted my own waiver and attempted to have them sign it at the same time lol, "for every hour I work over 44 per week you shall pay me 97$ per hour after tax" ... I'll sign yours if you sign mine :) .

Would have quit/been fired right then and there and would be in a truck two days later (because if your going to get your ### fired you might as well take a day off to contemplate your innocence and relax a little)

I have found the more stupid rules a company has, the more likely it is to be a horrible company to work for and one that will throw you under the bus first chance they get. I drive a bus, don't end up under it.

Ridiculous isn't a strong enough word to describe this. I get the "don't be drunk/high" part. But to tell someone "you better not get tired or you're fired".....ok well maybe you'd rather hire a robot to drive the truck instead? Like in Short Circuit. (number 5 alive!) Speeding....it will happen from time to time again with the exception of if you hire a robot who is more perfect than any human.

The part about painting the trucks so Ray Charles could see them....lol...I wonder if any drivers applied...? What's next, are they gonna put a dancing old man from the Six Flags commercials on the hood with some blinking Christmas lights all over the exterior?

I guess driving one, you'd have to be extra careful. I mean, having an actual bus right there all the time, you could be thrown under it at any moment.

Thanks for all the replies. Ive been with his company for 7 yrs and they were bought a year ago by a large corp. Im 62 yrs old and not interested in job hunting. Im a company driver, home every weekend, meals paid for, hotels every night, $80,000 per year. I haul compressed gases, flammable and inhalation hazard. The next move is going to be 2 way dash cams. It looks forward to the road and backwards at me. Its pretty hard to walk away from a job like this especially at my age.

With that package I would stay where I am and accept it as a change. If the camera does get introduced ignore it and keep driving as you are ... Which obviously is not in error.

Failing that if you don't want to go job hunting you could retire... 62 is the minimum age! you may want to look at it and evaluate everything before you decide to quit.

Way to sum it up there, driver.

Cell phones I get. Mine stays in the sleeper on the charger anyway while I'm driving. But the CB? It, at time, can be such a useful tool to have and they don't want you to use it? What are they going to ban for you next? An atlas? There's a big difference between chatting on the phone, blue tooth or not, and relaying a bit of information over the cb that at most should take all of maybe 5 seconds. On the other hand, who's listening to the cb anyway? Mines always on but usually turned way down because I have no interest in listening to these knuckleheads carry on a 10 minute conversation on 19. How about taking it to a different channel so the rest of us who want to hear the real information can continue listening without hearing your garbage?
