I need someone else's opinion. Last week I went off duty Thursday at 3:00 pm and took Friday and Saturday off also. I came back on duty on Sunday at about 2:30 am. My dispatcher tells me that I cannot start my restart friday and will have to run off recap. My plan was to run another load today thursday tht would finish before 1:00 am tommorrow Friday to start my 34 restart wouldn't that qualify me for a legal 34 restart.

why are they saying you can't start your reset?
If he says it's the rules, have him show you in the rule book, where it say you cant start it on Thursday. Resets can be started any day of the week.

You have satisfied your two 1am -5 am periods, (Friday 1am, Saturday 1am)
came back on duty Sunday am at 0230.

I could be wrong but when I was reading the new rules I thought one of the changes was that as long as full 168 hours (7 days) had to pass between resets (from the start). So if you started one last Thursdays at 3pm you should be able to start a new one anytime after this Thursday 3pm. I am sure some more experienced folks will chime in though.

You can start a restart anytime after 3pm Thursday as 168hrs (7 days) have passed since the beginning of your last qualifying reset period. That's where people are getting confused, its 168hrs from when you went OFF duty for a reset, not from when you came back ON duty

    peterrumbler Thanks this.
