backed into at the truck stop

I was hit at the petro in WI, called police they came out. Funny , thing they mailed me the police report.

 

This is good advise, go talk to the manager and tell him/her what's going on and ask them if there are any cameras that might have caught what happened.

 

Just report to company not cops unless company tells you too.

 

The company may report it as an incident to DAC.Depends on the company. Someone called in on me a few years ago and said I cut them off merging from I55 onto I94 in Chicago. There was no contact, not even scuffed tires. I was put on 6 months probation the next day and a few weeks later I was told the company paid this person $4600.00. Even though they could not answer my question of "How do you cut someone off merging in stop and go traffic?" I was charged with an accident.

 

get pictures b 4 u move the truck!!!! ,then call ur safety asap after that. non-preventable accident does not count against u. get as many,detailed photos, like a dozen or so. u should be fine, company shouldn t hold it against u let alone charge to u. let us know outcome

 

I got backed into at a truck stop before and it was put on my DAC as an incident/accident but when asked the company told them I reported being backed into. Didn't effect any jobs I've gone after.

Never be scared. Call your company. These events are everyday and they are non-preventable. It won't hurt you one bit. You have a logbook or Qualcomm showing you were parked. I would ask surrounding drivers if they seen anything. I would take pictures and follow company instructions. Cops may or may not write up a report being it was on private property. I've seen both ways.

BTW, they knew they hit you. That's why they were gone. Unfortunately there are many chicken jits out there that don't have the guts to man up. They'll sneak out just like a weasel. If they really didn't know they hit you they would of done a pull up and parked. That case check the guy's trailer next to you for evidence. There will be a paint scape or some evidence

Take into consideration where and how you park. Avoid end spots on inside rows. If there are two spots left take the one to the left. That sets the last guy up where you are on his drivers side instead of his blind side.

 

Do truck stops not have video surveillance?

 

Most truck stops only have cameras on the fuel islands.
