Just got a 2007 Century with a Detroit Diesel and I'm still feeling her out. Oil pressure goes to 50psi at start up but after about 20 miles settles down to about 27 - 30psi at idle and shoots back up to 45 - 50psi while driving. Does anyone know if this is normal?

That's about the same numbers mine runs at. Mine is a 2000 with 12.7 Detroit. Open road at 62 mph at 1375 rpm or so it shows about 43 range.

That's what my S60 did. I never liked the low pressure at idle, always bumped it up 100~200rpm when I parked to keep it around 35psi.

That is about right. I have noticed that if you put in some oil stabilizer, it seems to run at about 35psi idle, 50-60psi driving.

Older detroits love Lucas Oil! Actually, come to think of it, everything loves Lucas Oil.

Normal. My 11.1 which is a 91 model does the same thing.
