Does anyone know if TWT is a good company to sign on with. I've heard good things, but I'm a newbie and want progression opinion.

Excellent suggestions.

Add the fifty foot air hose and an air guage and you're ready to go.
-
New suggestion: Needle nose pliers. These will be necessary for pulling fuses.

Just keep in mind that you may be having to travel to get to your truck, so you may be better off holding off on a few of these items until you're actually in a truck. Just think about how much you would be willing to pack around via bus.

^^^^ What Mr. Jay said.
I went to orientation with a large duffle with light weight stuff like clothes, a small duffle with heavy food items (canned, etc.), and my computer bag. From orientation I went straight to a trainer's truck and believe me there wasn't much room for much else.
After finishing training I immediately went out for 6 weeks on the truck before taking home time. During that 6 weeks I got a 12V cooler and a few other items. Now that I've been in the truck running solo for four months I've got sheets, a comforter, and other items to make life on the road more enjoyable. Now if I had to get off the truck it wouldn't be possible to take it all on the bus with me.
Start out light, with everything in a couple of duffles. You never know what might happen. You may end up parting ways with your first trainer and need to bail off the truck to get another trainer. When you get your own truck you never know if it will need to be put in the shop and you get assigned a new truck, or you take home time and they reassign the truck. Be ready to roll to a new truck at any time until you are certain you have reached a level of experience with the company they feel comfortable having you keep the truck and take a few days off. -
Great lists, but not much about luggage. Based on comments by "Mr.J" & "Lepton1" I am assuming that 2 medium duffle bags or perhaps 3 small duffle bags are better than 1 large one. How about 2 medium duffle bags and a day-pack type back pack. I think it would be easier to store 2 or 3 small than 1 large. Does this make sense or am I just that green that I am clueless beyond belief?
