I know what you mean, JB. I like my truck to be clean as well. I try to clean the inside every 4 days or so and today, while sitting waiting to get hours back, I did laundry and washed the truck inside and out at the yard. Had a great day BS-ing with everyone here. Love that just washed truck look. I didn't know; however, that they had someone here almost every day to wash the trucks. I thought they were just here on Thursdays????

Ok, here's a good one. I found a good parking spot at the hook in Aurora yesterday. The place was your typical truck stop in Denver, slam full of trucks. The spot I got was along the curb, in front of their old abandoned scale. No matter what I do, whenever I park I make sure my truck is positioned so it can't get hit. I have this phobia about getting smacked in a truck stop and having to fly home because its going to take a week to repair while my radiator and fan clutch is lying on the ground next to my truck.
I spent all day yesterday relaxing, doing paperwork and cleaning. It started to rain about 6pm and has been raining cats and dogs since. Where I was parked the only way out was down the row I was in, I couldn't make a uturn so the logical maneuver was to pull straight out and go down this row right to the exit. Except there was 4 trucks parked side by side 2 deep blocking the row to the exit. It's 4am and raining like I've never seen it before. I pull up to the back truck in the middle, a US Express truck that is parked directly behind a Stevens Transport truck. Before I got out I put on my rain parka and hat. Didn't do any good, it was so windy I got soaked to the bone. Now I'm pissed, no, real pissed. I mentioned the two trucking companies because I want everyone to know what type of jerkoffs are driving trucks today.
I banged on the US Express truck first, he woke right up, apologized and started to explain, I told him not a problem, that I understood. Then I went over to the Jefkoffs truck, I knocked, I knocked again, then I banged and banged again. Then I'm yelling at the sleeper. Then finally this box of rocks gets into the drivers sleep and asks me what I wanted. Even at this point I'm pretty calm, I tell him that he's blocking the exit and I have to get out. Mr. Jerkoff then tells me he's not moving until his break is up. At this point I loose all forms of sanity and tell him that if he doesn't move the truck that I would go in and get the manager. He tells me go ahead. No problem big shot. I go inside , get the manager then come back out, the manager knocks on his door just as many times as I did, then finally tells this driver that he was going to call the police. Now check this out, there still was no answer from within, so the manager called the cops who arrived in 3 minutes. At 4am all I wanted to do was get the hell out of there, if there was room I would have made a uturn, I couldn't back all the way around so I was stuck. The cops put there lights on, hit their siren then finally Mr Jerkoff gets back up. At this point I had other trucks behind me waiting for this driver to move. I figured there was no reason for me to hang around, so I went back to my truck and waited for the exit to get unblocked. 2 minutes later it was. I was soaked to the bone so I drove the 4 miles to my delivery, got checked in then changed all my clothes, including my drawers and socks. Does anyone really needs me to explain just exactly how I feel about that driver, his trainer, or for that matter Stevens Transport? This is why I'm counting down the days until I hang it up, if this is what's coming down the pipe I don't want no part of it.Last edited: Sep 23, 2013
OtatKen, The Challenger, Dinomite and 1 other person Thank this. -
I am sure a Driver trained by you would not do this type of thing. Drivers should "At Least" be courteous of each other. It's unfortunate you had to deal with this type of individual. I believe that attitude goes way deeper than just his lack of driving abilities. A decent trainer would instill (I hope) the correct attitude and aptitude in his students. This clown brought all that other crap with him. Hope you have a much better day!

Ok, maybe it's me. I finally get a door over here at King Soopers. As I pull up to my assigned door there's a maitenance guy just pulling up in his little service truck and puts 2 orange cones in front of my assigned door, #220. Door broken, go see receiving for another door. Ok, what should I do with my truck and trailer that's parked cross ways in front if the dock? Leave it there says the yard jockey who pulls up. Ok, like a good little soldier I take orders very well. I go in, get another door, #218, then come back out to see my truck moving. At first I thought it was rolling, I mean after 33 years of setting brakes I have never forgot to do it yet, why start now? Then I see someone in my truck. I walk up and asked him just what the **ck he is doing. Long story short I was blocking him in and he needed to leave. I'm just curious, How would any of you have handled this?

I probably would've beat the living hell out of him, or worse, same as I would an intruder in my home. It's also for this very reason I carry an extra key in my pocket and lock the door whenever I leave the truck.
The Challenger, Lonesome and JohnBoy Thank this. -
This almost happened to me i was lucky and caught the guy getting in my truck since then no matter where I'm at or what I'm going I lock my doors even if just walking back to the back of the trailer.
