Q: Will overweight violations noted on roadside inspection reports affect a carrier's score in CSA?

A: No. Size and weight violations were removed from the now obsolete Cargo Related BASIC when the Methodology was updated in August 2010.

also interesting as many drivers think too many points will get ur cdl suspended

Q: Can a driver lose his/her CDL if the CSA system "flags" the driver as being a poor driver?

A: No. There are no regulatory provisions that would allow the FMCSA to "pull" a driver's CDL at this time (this would require rulemaking). The FMCSA can initiate interventions against the drivers, up to and including fining the driver, but they cannot suspend a driver's CDL at this time.

Thanks for the help folks. as i understand it a warning will drop off csa score after 3 years correct? I had a dot officer tell me once he can find something wrong with a new truck right off the line. I do my best to keep my equipment perfect, and do everything by the book but when hauling grain thats very difficult to do. Just nature of the beast, those who have done it know what im talking about.

That is right. They will drop off you in 3 years and your carrier in 2.

Just to once again CLARIFY a point already mentioned a standard police(any type dept) warning NOT attached to an INSPECTION REPORT has no bearing it is JUST a warning
A WARNING on the bottom of an inspection report carries all the same problems as a violation on an inspection report in terms of CSA points system

I got 3 warnings in one stop, speeding-seat belt- no blinker, in Mo and always wondered how it affected my license. Thanks for all the info and the thread.
