Electrical problem. When lights are on the trailer brake lights stay on until I put the right turn signal on. With lights out all works perfect. With trailer unhooked works perfect. Anyone had this problem and can tell me where to look? Thanks

Pig tail is ok. Tried new one and same thing happens. Wires are ok from where pigtail plugs into back of tractor to where they plug into wires on frame. Still looking for problem. Thanks for replying.

Do you have ordinary 4" sealed beam taillights? Edit: ( on the tractor )

Try changing them and make sure the connections aren't corroded. If they short out inside they will feed back through the trailer cord causing similar symptoms as you describe.

I pull same trailer all the time. Parked beside friend and hooked his pigtail up from his tractor and worked fine. Thanks for reply.

I have square ones with bulbs in them but put led bulbs in them insted of regular ones. Going take them out and try regular bulbs and see what happens. Thanks for replying. Never thought of that.

Check your grounds on the tractor. If the ground is weak it will back feed the system. I bet if you find the trailer ground wire in the pigtail wiring and ground it to a good ground it will probably out away

That's very true. 99% of electrical problems are a faulty ground. If there isn't a ground available, it will back feed through another power wire. Like if the signal or brake is on and no ground present, it will try to ground through the running lights.

I'll check the ground in pigtail and all other grounds on tractor. If thats it will let you no so you don't spend a lot of time like I did on this issue. Thanks everyone.
