So is there any other companies with a CDL program besides Prime that would be recommended. I am coming to conclusion that CDL school is just not going to be an option for me anytime soon. I want to be able to get the experience required so I can do a local gig with Pepsi or the local Beer trucks as they seem to pay pretty well & I would be home with my wife & 3 kids every day. Due to some OLD unfinished legal issues am leery of even applying for HAZ-MAT at this point & I'm kinda leery of doubles without actually being able to practice with them.

How much is CDL school where you live ? In Illinois, it's about $2,000. If I were you....I'd put it on a credit card then that lets you go with any company you want.
Yankneck Thanks this. -
CDL school about 5 G around here. They offer a loan for 4 thousand of that. I don't have $1,000 or a CC able to put that much on or I would have done that already. Getting desperate but don't want to make a horrible choice so hoping the experts here can help out with info.

Have you looked into a grant? I applied and got one starting class on Monday. Will finish up before Christmas and won't owe anything when im done. Also will have the opportunity to apply to as many different companies as I want, with no commitments. I just didn't want to start out driving already in debt for school. Just an option.Yankneck Thanks this.

Where did you apply for the grant? I'd be open to this just want to be able to get my CDL. Have taken learner's tests just need DOT physical to actually have CDL learners
