I fault the driving school for lying about the reality of the situation, at the same time he should have known better to research a little on the subject. It's very easy nowadays with that fangled thing called the internet.

It also sounds like they are taking advantage of him. Another 10 years we'll give you a penny raise.
Back to thread we can't forget this is a safety sensitive job where one mistake doesn't hurt only a co worker but can kill people in the general public including kids. Of course they are going to be tougher on us.
Just like driver pay and labor law exemptions, truckers live in a different world with different rules from everyone else. Many think oh you just drive, anyone can do that job. Trucking is more complex than one from the outside thinks.
Keep your nose clean and everything is fine. Mess up and there are heavy penalties to pay. Why? Back to the safety sensitive part.Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this. -

Well I'm with you on the dock workers, but plumbers and electricians? So you don't want these guys in a truck, but you want them coming into your home?
which reminds me of I guy i used to know, he was my friends brother, the guy was a piece of ####. He was a gang member, had several convictions, and he did heroin. He did all that but still had a job as a mover, he drove the truck and went in peoples homes and moved their stuff. Luckily he is in prison now, but the point is if that guy got a trucking job I think the op will find something.Last edited by a moderator: Sep 28, 2013

Maybe carpenters, drywallers or general construction/labor, but not electricians. Just as much of a safety issue if a pothead electrician burns down someone's house, plus the license exams are brutal enough that you have to have your act together. IMO...

Like I have said, ppl do deserve second chances depending how old the offense is and what the offense is.But I do think companies should give randoms more then they do.I bet many drivers do drugs.Too bad more didn't get caught. How about non trucking jobs,do most of then give drug test like fast food?
