It's the little things in life that make you happy. Like not having to worry about money.
I paid cash for my first new truck in 1998. I liked that truck.
I bought myself a new car in 2002 and drove it back to the terminal and took nap. (Paid 24k cash). No big deal.
Traded the '98 model for a top of the line fancy Pete because people said it would start costing me $ . I miss the old truck.
I thought about paying cash for a new house. Fortunately, I didn't do it.
Stuff doesn't make you happy. It's just stuff. And you get to insure it and maintain it. I was happy with a 5 year old truck and a 12 year old car. Of course, that new car is now 12 years old. -
With 82k, you can have my wife.....no wait, I need more to recover what she spent lol
-

Get the truck. You are so methodic and disciplinned besides common sensed that you will succeed.
No driver pays everything off and still keeps 82 grand for long to think of a brighter forthcoming day.
God bless and good luck. -

Think real hard, there is something we all dream about and would do in a heart beat but, know that day will never come.. What is it? Man,,,I pray all the time for $25,000 to start my trucking company, dept free. What is your dream comrade? Just keep doing what your doing till you feel 100% about what it is you want to do with that money. God bless you brother....and thank you for your service to this not so thankful country....HOOAH! -

I wouldnt invest in cds or the Market, are you aware the 1.1 trillion dollar budget that just passed last week, the Devil is in the Details,Part of the Agreement gives Mutual fund,Stock Market, and Market Movers the Right to Gamble again with peoples 401ks.IRAs,and Investements,Pensions,
Do you remember 2008,the MARKET CRAshED and People that had Money in investments lost a Crapload of there Money and the people who were over managing the accounts,GOT OFF SCOTT FREE,made a LOTn i do mean alot of CaSh ,NO ONE WENT TO JAIL,O BY THE WAY THE AMERICAN TAX PAYERS,YOU,ME,AND every JOE SMOE,u know in AMERICA PAID for it,TOOoo big to fail so they say lol,WELL THIS AGREEMENT ALLOWS THEM TOO do it again with "NO GUARANTEED PUNISHMENT"
if you think im lying look it up,thats why they are rolling back the breaks for truck drivers and trying to change the rules to allow us to make more money, since they have gambled away Peoples Pensions.
The Trucking Industry,Construction Industry, and Grocery Industry all are getting hit with the Pension Rollback
So id say if this what you really want to do, $15-$20,000 on a used Decent truck dont listen to people who say you cant find a decent truck with this price because i did and it was cheaper than that, $10-12,000 on a trailer of your choice
$15-20,000 in a emergency account and the rest invest in Gold Certificates,Push come to shove and you are in a tight spot you can cash out a few if need be,
And run your business your way,Be smart not Stupid about decisions you make, register your company, get a cpa, save every receipt,do your homework,Know what it cost to run your truck,Dont be afraid to turn a wrench if need be to save a few bucks,if its out of your Expertise ask questions, get mechanics opinions,Dont listen to what every body says,if it doesnt feel right dont do it,listen to your truck, get the feel for her
Most importantly EnJoy your NEW FOUND FREEDOM,
Enjoy NOT taking CHEAP LOADS,enjoy cashing thousand dollar checks,
See you down the road driver,Honk HOnk!!!!Arielit0oo and SheepDog Thank this.
