Except for Wal Mart No body likes a truck in their parking area. I buy enough for three days when I can. It is not a money problem, it's an attitude problem. I can't help backwards un educated people. I have found the southern people are the best to welcome me. The East coast don't trust me. I'm a Southerner. They don't like Glocks. They use old S&W 38's. Some have old .45 autos. What a way to make a living.

If your truck is equipped with an APU, a lot of problems are solved with refrigerated foods. I recommend trying to hire on with companies that have APU's. You can add a refrigerator & microwave. APU's also give you power during layovers & breaks for TV and computer.

Walmart & Dollar General are good places to shop for food to carry in the truck.

    Ramen Noodles
    Instant Coffee
    Tea
    Tuna
    Frozen dinners
    Peanut butter
    Canned soups
    Oatmeal
    Cereals
    Hot Chocolate mix
    Cheese & Crackers

    Uhhh...betel nuts? Loveum!

Well; Saddletramp1200 didn't even answer your question (instead went off on some sort of crazy gun and regional rant)....and Chinatown "thanked" him (for what God only knows)....so I will try to help you.

If you know where you are going, or if you have a smart phone with a free app...you can ALWAYS find a Wal-Mart en-route to your destination.
More and more often, truckers and RV'ers are forcing individual Wal-Marts to close their lots to big trucks with their littering and ridiculous parking habits...so it MAY be hit or miss. So shopping can be done (for the most part) every day.

You know what foods spoil, and which are staples...so I don't have to tell you what to buy.

Depending on how your truck is equipped (i.e.-microwave, coffee maker, fridge, etc...) will dictate what you will be able to stock up on. If you like peanut butter---that is ALWAYS good to have on the truck for a quick sandwich to cure hunger for a short time.

Not sure who is stopping at Dollar General? Have you ever seen their parking lots (or lack thereof)? Every time I drive by a Dollar General, I feel just a LITTLE bit sorry for the drivers that have to deliver there. Those stores were NOT built truck friendly.

My hubby has no problems stopping along his routes for groceries. That WM app is helpful. Hubby stops about twice a week for groceries.

Beef jerky and pringles can make for an emergency "steak & potato" dinner.

So if Walmart is so ##### where do you park to get food or is there just time limits on how long you can stay at Walmart and do you always stay at a truckstop at night or just where ever

So, I have no clue what you just said.

Yes, you can park at WM to buy groceries. Depending on the WM and the community, sometimes you can park overnight. You can park at a truckstop. You can park at a rest area. Sometimes you can part at shippers or receivers. You can NOT just park where ever.

As for where you park at WM to go in and shop. Call ahead, tell them why you are coming in, and where they would like you to park. Then do that.

And don't leave trash all over their lots. It's ok if you have trash just walk it to the #### trash can. I know some will say but the 4 wheelers throw trash in the lot. They will ban trucks before 4 wheelers.

Once or twice a week. Bread/milk perishables in my small refrig dictates frequency. I park behind any large supermarket, just stay away from their docks. Only had one issue in 35 years. Stay out of Cityview shopping center in Garfield Hts OH. The one built on a garbage dump, they tow in less than 15 minutes.
