Your pay will be in your bank on Mondays... If Monday is a holiday, you will get it Tuesday. You get 2 pay statements on line, one dated Thursday night showing your runs, the other dated Friday with what is deposited in your account.

This is what your Thu. statement will look like for orientation. Hubby claimed married with 0 exemptions.

Hubby has left the TA world, but not before making sure he got all his back pay they owed him. Maybe it was him, maybe it was them, maybe it was both, but he realized OTR LIFE is not for him.

Have it put on your fuel card, and then you can transfer the amount you want into your bank account. It will still take to the first of the week to show in your account, but you can get money off of your card to live on.

If you have someone at home, do what I do. I leave a stack of EFS checks at home snd on Friday call hubby and trll him how much to authorize it for. Then he deposits the check in the bank. I comsider the 85 cents for the check a convenience fee. Hubby and I have been doing this since he started with TransAm

Were there a lot people in orientation? I am supposed to start in a few weeks also and was wondering if there were any surprises that you weren't aware of once you got there like something the recruiter didn't mention? I have heard that happens at other companies a lot so I was just wondering. What type of paperwork did you need to bring with you to orientation? I have emailed the recruiter and am just waiting to hear back on specifics. Thanks for the updates!

Well I learned something new today. I picked up a pre-loaded trailer in New Concord, OH, and went to the nearest open truck stop scale to weigh which was 50 miles down the road. The closest scale was only less than 10 miles away but it wasn't working. Anyway I weigh and find out Im over on my gross 80,800 lbs. So night dispatch says go back and have the load re-worked, so I did. The shipper worked quickly and got it fixed. Well this morning when my DM came in I asked to be paid for the miles that I had to run to get this load re-worked. 100 miles is what it was. Well she said we don't pay mileage to have a load re-worked. That makes a total of 300 miles that I have to eat this week. The other 200 was coming back from California going to Nebraska. Couldn't go over the Rockies, but I got over that, and now here we go again today. I asked how much was Trans Am getting paid for me having to go back to shipper, and was told I don't believe they get anything. Well that I don't believe BS tells me that they are getting paid. Trans Am isn't gonna do anything for nothing. They win again!! I love my job!!

Good evening everybody! Finally some conversation going on!
lbutler, I don't think my husband had any surprises when he went through orientation ...but things have changed. Were any of you told to bring supporting documentation if you were going company and would have company insurance? Husband had to take a copy of our marriage certificate and supporting documentation for the kids in order to be eligible for family insurance. The recruiter that he had sent him a list of things to bring and suggestions for packing....right down to small containers of laundry detergent. I don't think they do that anymore ....kind of a shame because it gave you a good idea of the essentials. He was even told to bring his sleeping bag for when he went out with a trainer.

oliver2, glad you are back! Did you have trouble logging on because of the forum being hacked? It sounds as if George is keeping busy!

kirk, if it's any consolation Husband had about the same thing happen to him on a load of bottled water. They did the same thing, had him turn around so that the load could be reworked. As a company driver he did not get paid for those miles either.

Honeybadger, that's a great idea on an alternative way to handle your pay ....think I will swipe it and copy it to the Tips section on the blog!

    kirk and lbutler Thank this.
