Hello,
I have a Freightliner FLD with a Cummins ISX engine. It suddenly has the Engine Check light on once it is started, and a very slight misfire. Can you please help me on how I could diagnose what the problem could be. It is the first time I have owned a truck with that engine and I don't have a clue on what to check.
I will appreciate all suggestions.

Change Fuel filter

Get the flash codes.

How do I get the flash codes?
-
There is a diagnostic switch somewhere. It's usually on the dash or down low by the data link connector.
-
I was told the codes can only be pulled with Insight
-
Sometimes it's under the dash near the data link plug. I have yet to see a Cummins without one (ones that support flash codes that is). Newer ones do not support flash codes because they display codes right on the dash, so no need for flash codes.

I have changed the fuel filter but the Engine Check is still on. I have seen the diagnostic switch on the dash, I have tried switching it on and off but nothing happens. Can you advise how I go about this switch to get the codes.
baha Thanks this. -
