felony freindly

Not sure what felonies Schneider accepts but I had a student not that long ago with one and of course he was hired. It was a drug offense. He was a great guy, good driver. You could give them a call.

 

Drugs? Sex offender? Driving felonies? if any of these fit, Stay home! stay out of the trucking industry

I'll admit I'm somewhat of a hypocrite; I wouldn't hire a sex offender ever and would probably not hire the guys that robbed and shot the night clerk at the 7-11. My question is this, if prior felons can't find jobs after they get out of prison what are they supposed to do other than commit more crimes to support themselves? Ethos, glad to hear that Schneider at least has some sense and will take a look at what the "crime" was to possibly give someone a chance. I don't know why but some companies are just nuts. A 18 year old kid makes a mistake, gets busted for a "felony" drug conviction, convicted as an adult and does time and he's never supposed to be able to get a decent job again? I'm not a felon but I would at least look at the whole story rather than toss them all out.

 

I agree. Especially in nonviolent cases, like drugs.

 

I think the whole record system is ########, there is a blurred line between a misdemeanor and a felony in today's judicial for profit system. It's like DUI's... a lot of companies won't hire a driver because he had one, so basically they're (insurance companies) saying he can't be trusted yet the limits for alcohol are so ridiculously low that it really comes down to a petty technicality most of the time. A record really doesn't prove anything, the proof comes with a persons actions. So if one had a conviction and did his time then it should be over and never brought up again.

 

I agree; i'm a drug felon from 08 but after I got released from doing my year, I enrolled in a rehab program & graduated the program I went back otr & have been clean ever since. I get drug tested randomly like all fleets do but the main thing is the man I work for gave me a chance & I haven't let him down.

 

No!, Drugs and Trucks don't mix, to many innocent lives can be ruined, Sex offender!, Don't want him in my neighborhood!

 

we all make mistakes & I agree that drugs & trucks or any kind of vehicle doesn't mix BUT no one is perfect
