i agree with it takes time to figure out a new company. only been with tse/epes for @ a month now, and have a pretty big dent in my dashboard from banging my head into it at times. went from paper to now having quallcomm, and just about getting that down finally along with the macros that tse/epes wants.

still leaning the shippers/rcvrs and their habits and trying to figure out my dm/fm. i figure i'll get the shippers/rcvrs way before i get the dm/fm figured out.

on a side note, miles for the first month were a little down from what i was looking for, totaled out @ 9,100 where 10,000 is really what i need to hit to make it worth being out 2 weeks at a time. but it's close and hoping once the planners figure out that i can and will run, that number will go up.

also, noticed the "new" trucks at the Rockwall yard waiting for drivers. all were white Volvos with epes logos, including the anniversary sticker on the side. no tse markings at all.

What do you know about being a owner op here , pretty much nothing . Let's see company drivers get paid vaction , breakdown pay , and Maney other perks . I bet you never seen a 35 dollar pay check I have . What my big beef here is about the op side is we all like to be able to choose between 3 loads . You must have been complaining to much calling every 30 seconds on the phone and turning down loads . The more you ##### the more you sit . You should have asked some of these guys about stuff and you might have seen a diffrent light at epes . Maybe you should have asked if freight was slow which it was for a couple months . Before you atack any owener op here at epes put your feet in our shoes . You think we get prime freight here all the time no we don't , we have to clean up the mess from you whinny ### drivers I won't go to the east crybabys . The less crybabys that are not here is for the best means less loads I have to clean up ####### period

    yep what he said lol

we've got plenty of those......and I've talked to many......

I turned that one down because...........<insert BS reason here> I've heard about all of them

    wasn't enough miles
    too many miles
    wouldn't get me home
    wasn't a drop and hook
didn't pick up until the next day and I still have time to run
and the biggie........I don't want to go there / been there before takes too long to load/unload

then there was the guy that I gave a ride to once to the yard who didn't drive at night, in the rain, or in snow

and now i'm parked next to one tonight who is one of the I don't drive at night guys.

like I posted earlier, if a driver here isn't getting run and isn't getting miles, there a reason for it. those of us who do iour jobs, don't complain unless it's something worth complaining about, and keep our head down and take care of business get our miles.......or when things are slow, get as many as they can give us..... yes there are short weeks......we all get them and sometimes a few in a row. yes sometimes you have to sit on a load or a couple in a row. but do these things and take care of business and handle yourself like a professional and it gets rewarded at some point as well. at least in my experience and with my dm those 'favors' that suck at the time, always end up coming back around. this week is a good example of one. long runs, long miles, and set up to get home Friday if the week holds. made the big circle off the yard, up to plainfield, out to texas, and loading in the morning in dallas back to Columbia which should setup the trip home. and close to a 3000 week if not over. we on the company side have to pick up the scraps the I don't wanna's leave behind as well, and I picked up a few last week that were short trips with time on them.......got them as preplans after I was empty so no telling how many had turned them down before they tried me.......just suck it up and commit and handle your business if you've got time to run it. it's your job to run it if you can run it the customer is depending on the company to deliver......not for you holding out till you get something you like............and then planned home Friday and the phone rings and he says 'I really need a favor if you can help me out' lol.......didn't really want to but I was close and empty and ended up getting in Saturday evening instead of Friday.......but I got those favors back this week in some long running and a good check next week.

on another note........what the hell is this country coming to when you pull into a customer and all the signs are in Mexican and the small print subtitles are English. I really hate to see what this country is turning into. thank god i'll be dead and gone before I can see what it's going to be in another 50 years.

Sorry to side track but...any of y'all been to the Lowes rdc in adairsville GA? Tsetse directions are a lil.
Weak, Google maps and GPS are both striking out on street name of prosperity

    Back to the thread...

One reason I'm not running the upper n e is my pre pass/ez pass doesn't work on the tolls. Crossing the GW. would put a dent in the wallet till payroll catches up. Plus they gave me the choice. I.think the folks.hired after me don't get that choice and heard that after November nobody will have the choice. Ive run NY,CT,PA,NJ before (reefer.) In fact first solo trip OTR was to Hunts Point. Just if given the choice rather not.

And only said nope to one load. Offered to go to PA and get it and TC it in Jersey but they said nope and canceled the pre plan.

I've been to that Lowes many times. I-75 to exit 306. If your coming 75 South you'll turn right at end of ramp. If you're going north, you'll turn left at the end of the ramp. You'll go through 3-4 lights, then you will be out of town. Maybe 5 miles out of town you'll come to a red light. That's Prosperity Way. Turn right and go maybe a quarter mile and you'll turn left. That will take you right to guard shack, which is maybe a half mile down.
