ISX heads are very labor intensive to remove and should never be compared to any other engine. ISX's are dual overhead cam design. Both cams have to come out to get to the head bolts. The cams do not come out through the top. They have to be slid out the front. Front cover and gear train have to come apart and the rad has to be removed for access/clearance. Not cheap.

well I got truck back and after the jakes were rebuilt it still is not workin rite. they changed one solenoid and all O-rings. today I took it back and we went through a bunch of different test. took harness apart at valve cover to find out that with a tester the solenoids worked that way but not when the harness was hooked up. next we tested all switches and all was good. next he took end of harness apart and found that wire was getting juice from ecm. so he figures I need to go to kw to c if they have a test ecm to hook up to c if the ecm is not sending a signal to solenoid. also hooked up to insite and it showed only one stage working.
