After getting out of the Army, I did my first 'camp job' in northern NB. Good money and great memories !! Sadly, good camp jobs in the north east (ME, NH, VT, NS, NB, NFLD, PQ) have been disappearing over the years.
Well, this add was refreshing to see in 2013 :

Seen that too. Haven't checked into it yet.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Ted or Ken Sparkes in Apohaqui ?
-
Is that considered good money for the region?
-
Yes. With room and board and overtime. That should be a base line income. It's probably negotiable if someone needs drivers that bad, they're camping them in southern NB.
-
18 an hour? Still worth it to pack up and come west.
-
If you can make a living and be home what more could you for.
-
$16-18 an hr seems kinda low, but maybe that is normal there. Is the cost of living cheaper there? When I hauled chips out in BC I was makin $25/hr, but that wasnt a camp job...n BC is a pretty dern expensive place to shack up...

Brother in law is hauling chips all highway for 29.. In Saskatchewan. Home every day.
