After getting out of the Army, I did my first 'camp job' in northern NB. Good money and great memories !! Sadly, good camp jobs in the north east (ME, NH, VT, NS, NB, NFLD, PQ) have been disappearing over the years.

Well, this add was refreshing to see in 2013 :

"We are currently seeking a class 1 driver for our off road chip haul operation. Camp accommodations provided in Sussex, NB. This is a 60hr per week shift work job, with some weekend work required. Pay is $16.50 to $18.00.

Please reply with resume or job history and experience. "

Is that considered good money for the region?

Yes. With room and board and overtime. That should be a base line income. It's probably negotiable if someone needs drivers that bad, they're camping them in southern NB.

$16-18 an hr seems kinda low, but maybe that is normal there. Is the cost of living cheaper there? When I hauled chips out in BC I was makin $25/hr, but that wasnt a camp job...n BC is a pretty dern expensive place to shack up...
