You are told to either run the load or clean out the truck, after telling them you can't run the load legally. They will never put that on the qual com, if they tell you to call on the phone, be prepared. I was told this, so I did as they said, I cleaned out the truck and left

They paid for a hotel room because the broker screwed up the appointment time and also they paid layover. No problems here

The people who maintain this site aren't forcing you to reply to old threads and bring them back to the top for everyone to get a fresh look. LOL

Point taken. It's just that most of the posts were old. What happened before E-logs doesn't matter much now. I used to run illegal almost every day for various companies doing paper logs. Covenant, Andersons,NFI, Risinger, Blachowske, and a small company called Bluestar. I was never "forced" , but you basically understand that if you don't do it you won't make any money and you may get stuck with no load. This was just the way things were back then. If you didn't have a preplan, you would try to take a nap after delivery and many times by the time you got new load and picked it up your 14 would be half gone! But you waited till late afternoon to fuel, because you had to log that properly, and then run till 0200-0300 to deliver a 500-600 mile load! Sleep a little, deliver and repeat! On paper I was legal, but I could've been busted at any time for being over my 14. Luckily I never got caught and never wrecked! Some of you younger drivers don't understand , that this was just very commmonplace in the industry. You made a deal with the devil to make money for your family! However, some of these posts are just not believable. Now with E-logs, companies must preplan much better, and do more drop &hook or they will go bankrupt! I don't make the $$ I used to, but at least I get sleep now, and I'm not at risk for going to prison like I used to be! I am probably going to give A.D. a try next week. I would like to hear reviews of A.D. AFTER E-logs came in to play!

And some of the older drivers don't understand that it was running illegal that has E-LOGs being shoved down our throats nowadays! So if you knew couldn't do the load legally then you should've just refused it. And any company that would try to force such a load on me I wouldn't want to work for them-then or now. Especially if it means a risk of going to prison-good luck getting a job after spending time in "Club Fed"!!
Sometimes in life you have to adapt to changes in your job. Change tactics.
