need some cheap dunnage????

I had a butt load of those rounded side pine timbers from a load of landfill liner rolls. I made a nice log cabin bungalow for my terriers. Ripped down some oak 4bys for the floor planks. Made some stilts out of cedar logs. Only thing I bought was some tin for the big ol' roof.

 

I haven't paid for dunnage in 5 years, why would I start now?

 

I upgraded all my dunnage as well.

It's grows in the woods for free

Many receivers will give me all I want. If only I was building a cabin or owned a fireplace

 

I have a big stack of hardwood dunnage sawed up ready to feed into my wood stove.

 

No thanks. I'll leave the landscape timbers for the Western Express and CRST drivers.

 

I got eight 6x6 oak timbers from an ATS driver a few months back for $20.... he also sold me his Fox Fire magnet LED's for $20 for 2 yellow and 2 reds. Say what you want about ATS but some of their drivers are like hitting the ###### jackpot

 

you should have asked him if he had any of those reflective oversized signs. I have a pair that I bought when they first came out, but those things are through the roof now.

 

Why do drivers put up with this? That would NOT happen to me as a company driver on mileage pay. I'd let the 'boss' know that he needs to buy me some dunnage if he wants that nucor load moved by me. If not, tell me where you want me to leave the truck.

 

I have a dunnage box in the rear of my trailer. I always keep a few extra pieces in there so when I get to a receiver I have some to give them so they can start putting the load on the ground.

It speeds up the unloading which in the end is a good deal for me.
