You dont see alot of USA truck on toll roads or turn pikes because USA is too cheap.. They send their trucks on red lighted US highways. NO need to turn their trucks up from 63 MPH when half of your days is sitting on US 35.

Well so far I have gotten hired on with USA Truck and went through their orientation in Spartanburg, SC. Well they sent me back home to WV cause they didn't have a trainer availible for me at the time. Well that was cool with me cause I have 2 young children that I could spend a little time with. Anyway, the way I understand it because I'm a recent graduate I will be spending 4 to 6 weeks in a truck with a trainer and then take a road test and get my own truck, (approx. 175 BTW Hours I believe).
Anyway I was teminated due to a past employer saying that I failed a drug test but fortuneatly USA told me who said it so I could get this fixxed because I had never failed a drug screen. Well I got it cleared up and they said I would have my job back. So now I'm waiting again for a trainer in WV, but all in all USA Truck seems like a really good comapny. No matter where you go though you'll either love it or hate it. No matter what company it is, there will always be good and bad. USA truck seems to be the better of the larger companies in my opinion though.
Also they are trying out paperless logs(Same system Werner is using) but only a select few are using them right now to see how their going to work out.
-
if we go paperless logs i will probably be looking for another company!
-
Yea I agree, the paperless log system is a joke. It will eat up a lot of your time that you can normally log as off duty, for a break and they'll put you as getting loaded that whole time and it'll kill your 70 for the week. I don't know why any company would wanna go with that system. It's a joke and it will never work, and it's in no way any safer then what we have here now. I mean yea it's more convienient for the DOT but who cares bout the DOT this is our job and our life and most importantly OUR MONEY that their messin with.

They pay tolls on any road that takes E-Z Pass or PikePass. They won't pay IN, OH or KS tolls without prior approval (if you have a load that will only be on time if you run the toll road, you can usually get approval). They won't pay FL tolls for any reason other than "it's the *only* way to get there".

I have worked for USA for almost 2 years now, and no you will not be home on time but in this industry it should be expected. Not all loads run straight to your house. They are in the business of moving frieght not getting drivers home. If this is what you expect get a desk job
-
that is one good thing i can say about USA probably since i had great FM's that worked well with me. i got home ALWAYS within a day either way (early or late) of my request. and i live in FLORIDA! YOU KNOW how much we run THERE. LOL
but, the way i hear they are treating some folks now...i wouldnt pee on'm if they were on fire!!!

Yeah, I left them about 6 months ago. Now working for Crete on the General Mills dedicated account. I still keep in touch with a few USA Truck drivers. One of the ones I keep in touch with was my trainer. He's giving them one more month to get his miles back up, then if they don't he's got applications for a half dozen other companies filled out and ready to send in. My short stint training for USA left me with 2 pretty good friends I keep in touch with also. 1 of them just came over to Crete (he got on the National fleet, not a dedicated account) and the other has been struggling, trying (usually unsuccessfully) to top 2000 miles a week for the last couple months.
-
That's a scary sight! I'm scheduled to start CDL training the 12th of January and start with USA upon completion. Could you please promise me that if I somehow end up with you I WILL NOT have to go there.
here was removed since I can't post links
