Two bad weeks in a row for total miles.....urgh.

    September 9-September 16(1439 total miles)
    785 miles(Eau Claire, MI-Mechanicsville, VA)
    479 miles(Port Royal, VA-Plainfield, CT)
    175 miles(Northampton, MA-Hillside, NJ)

I will really be pushing for good miles this week....I don't like small checks lol. If I get loads away from the Northeast, I may be able to actually rack up good miles. I don't know why but lately I have been seeing the Northeast too much for my liking. Til later guys and please be safe out here....I am seeing way too many accidents and it isn't even bad weather yet

Once a person gets the reputation of being able to run the NE without getting lost, tearing up stuff, and not griping too much, they become the go NE man. Been there. In the 70's there were 5 of us drivers at a private company. We mainly ran Michigan, but did our fair share of NYC, Phili, Boston, ect. At the end of the year I found a list of trip sheets. I had 22 trips of multi-stop new furniture all over the NE. Next driver had 5, one driver 2. other two drivers 0. I could do it, and got it done fast with no problems. I guess I should have done a worse job, or paid off the dispatcher, which I later found out two of the guys did.

I'll keep an eye on it. I don't deny any loads cause I'm here to make money but the northeast just isn't worth the risk and hassle. I don't get anything extra for northeast loads so I prefer anywhere else lol

These last three weeks have been great!!!

    September 16-September 23(1183 total miles)
    928 miles(Elmwood Park, NJ-Madison, WI)
    955 miles(Menomonee Falls WI-Oklahoma City, OK)

    September 23-September 30(4313 total miles)
    1362 miles(Arkansas City, KS-Battleboro, NC)
    1765 miles(Greenville, NC-Denver, CO)
    1186 miles(Westminster, CO-Lebanon, TN)

    September 30-October 7(3070 total miles)
    585 miles(Gleason, TN-Milledgeville, GA)
    792 miles(Gordon, GA-Michigan Center, MI)
    544 miles(Toledo, OH-Nashville, TN)
    1149 miles(Springfield, TN-Aurora, CO)

I am still on the Springfield, TN-Aurora, CO load currently in Concordia, MO. This week had me exhausted as the first two loads were next day deliveries and now I'm just taking this weekend to rest. I'm continually learning out here and just trying to get better each day. I have seen too many accidents involving big rigs out here and I don't care how other truckers view me but I will continue to drive safely on my terms.

I got stopped at this scale in Mayview, MO off I70 westbound for "#2 axle right wheel with a crack extending from stud hole to hand hole". I am currently out of service until my company finds a shop to fix this issue for me. View attachment 55649

Company got my truck fixed to get me back on the road Monday afternoon but now I have a huge problem. I am stuck on the side of US 287 southbound in Hugo, CO due to NO AIR in either tank....air compressor must be the problem. Oh well I won't find out until the morning

Urgh I seriously need a break from trucking....Turned out that I had a hole in the air line coming from the compressor which I couldn't see last night. I got up and running again around 1pm cst just to have a trailer tire blow out on me in Campo, MO. Well I am really getting overwhelmed and the fact that winter is rapidly approaching is not making me feel any better. I'm at the Clarence Truck Stop waiting for the mechanic to get to me. CAN ANYTHING ELSE GO WRONG???

With all the issues that I've had with the truck this week, I am really enjoying this Saturday!!! I delivered a load of watermelons early this morning and now I'm at a rest area in Indiana until I pick up a load tomorrow. Just having time to not have to think about traffic, time, loads, brokers, dispatch, DOT, etc is really enjoyable :)
