So glad that it has been a better week for you. jaso36, and that you did get a little extra for sitting. ALWAYS ask! I can't say it enough. All they can do is say no, I guess I am hoping that if enough people ask for detention pay eventually they will have a bit more respect for all of the wasted time that drivers endure, if only because it is costing them!. ....Hey, a girl can dream, can't she! ... You'll get used to the elogs, everybody does. They have their advantages and disadvantages. We have a good team here and we aren't going to let Pete leave us totally ....we will track him down if he tries. Are you still planning on being a coach?

    jaso36 Thanks this.

Ok, I need input again. We need a packing list for orientation. When the King started with TransAm the recruiter sent him a very detailed list of what to pack. Unfortunately that list is long gone and I guess they don't send one out anymore ....not as specific anyway. So ....suggestions?

They say pack light cause they send you home on your first trip. They did me so I got everything in truck. Don't need much for orientation except DL, SSN Card, Medical card and a voided check if you want direct deposit. Bring enough clothes for a week and full size bedding. I brought twin, pretty funny scene watching me try to make a twin fitted sheet fit but I did until I sat down and then poof all four corners went at once. LOL.

One more thing I am not shy when it comes to money so I always ask. I figure these companies make so much they can spare some. You ever wonder how much a company makes look up Celdon they are a public company meaning that their finacials are public they trade on the Nasdaq. I think their letters are CLDN and they are dry van which mean reefer makes more but be prepared to be upset cause their net profit is huge so this company is raking it in and they never share any with us drivers. Cheap, cheap, cheap but they are all this way

Orientation has changed in the years since Husband went through it. He was out with a coach for a much longer time. As far as paperwork he also had to bring documentation if he wanted to participate in the company health insurance ....marriage certificate, SS#'s. At that time they were still on paper logs and had no GPS in the truck so you had to bring your own atlas. They had him bring a sleeping bag instead of bedding. What about things like work gloves, flip flops for the showers? Anything like that the you can think of?

    Just for fun!:biggrin_25525:

A blind guy on a bar stool shouts to the bartender, "Want to hear a

blonde joke?"In a hushed voice, the guy next to him says, "Before you
tell that joke, you should know something."Our bartender IS blonde,
the bouncer is blonde. I'm a 6' tall, 200 lb black belt. The guy sitting
next to me is 6'2", weighs 225, and he's a rugby player. The fella to
your right is 6'5" pushing 300 and he's a wrestler. Each one of US is
blonde. Think about it, Mister. Do you still want to tell that joke?"The
blind guy says, "Nah, not if I'm going to have to explain it five times."

For orientation I packed: toiletries, including shower shoes; a weeks worth of clothing; bed sheets to fit a twin bed; my pillow and favorite blanket... catch is, this is thr only time in my life I ever used the food saver to vaccuum seal anything... rolled and tied pillow and blanket and vaccuum sealed them to save room in my bag; work gloves; atlas; netbook; driving school info, HS diploma (I think I took it), SS card; Kindle and electronic chargers. Also had a battery pack I could plug in to the inverter and then pull it off later and use to charge my phone out and about.
