Its a marajuna charge. And NONE of these charges have ever
held him back as truck driver before until now. Hes always
been open about everything. And Tommy Wilson was called in the back
to be talked to before us. So from what I can see. He wasn't doing
his job very well. -
If I read you post correct, you sad he had a misdemeanor? and the above quote is on their app? you should have divulge the charge to Ozark, and there are post that speak about "driving old company's truck to new company", you posted that you followed him, did you guy take TransAm's truck to Ozark?, If you did? then shame on you guys, that is theft

Whatever the "marijuana charge" was (you hadn't specified), whether it was for simple possession, possession w/ intent to distribute, transporting quantities... whatever, it seems clear from your first post saying they "asked for felonies ONLY" that you figured you'd not disclose this 2009 charge to them.
Sorry, but I think you knew it might have a great negative impact on being hired by Ozark, and chose to withhold it simply because the app didn't ask for any misdemeanors. (It may have also been a felony charge that was "negotiated" down to a misdemeanor)
Sounds like you had plenty of opportunities to ask the recruiter to make sure this "marijuana charge" wasn't going to affect his being hireable, but you didn't say a word about it to him. Even if this charge typically would be "allowable" for Ozark, the fact that you didn't disclose it (and Ozark had to find it out on their own) is, in itself, a big problem. All companies want 100% honesty foremost. Anything hidden.. and they will find out.
The simple fact that you didn't tell us the entire story (2009 marijuana charge) until post #74, when you knew it all along, tells me you were even more "secretive" with Ozark.
I have sympathy for open, honest folks. I'm not so sure you qualify for it. And if he drove to Ozark's orientation in TransAm's truck, I don't blame Ozark at all.Lonesome and skootertrashr6 Thank this. -
Maybe it's none of my business but why were you in orientation with your hubs? Are you two a team?

They do mention turning in the truck in Olathe, KS. So I'm not sure where the 1000 miles round trip come in, unless you go Paducah, Olathe, Memphis, Paducah. It's possible that I have the "home" city wrong because much like Ozark I quit caring after the marijuana charge.

Your husband has been driving a truck for 24 years.
That means since 1989. During that time we have the following occurrences:
A felony conviction in 1996. (Charge unknown)
A DRUG conviction from 2009.
While holding a CDL we have a "driver" who has committed and been convicted of a felony AND has committed a crime that in some fashion involved illegal drugs.
The felony aside, to be involved with illegal drugs in any fashion while holding a CDL is unforgivable.
If he never gets behind the wheel again, it will be too soon.joseph1135 and skootertrashr6 Thank this. -
Happens all the time..
Qualcom's pick it up faster now. Years agp drivers would park at a trkstp near their new employer and do the class and then call up the old company and quit, all the while drawing their advance. Then say the old company screwed them out of their last check -
Yes, a marihuana conviction from 2009? That explains everything. Ozark was not in the wrong at all. Your husband was. Weed is illegal. No matter your stance on it (I'm for complete legalization of pot myself) its illegal. And it is a disqualifying situation at almost any company. This is on your husband. Before you even apply for another job, that better be brought up. And tell him to get his act together. Driving since '89, a felony in '96 and a drug charge in '09. Seems like he's not the good driver you've made him out to be.
Lonesome, catalinaflyer and skootertrashr6 Thank this. -
I agree - maryjowana is baaad. Drugs are bad to get caught and charged with...
