You're a better person than me. I just feel anger towards the dude. What a senseless destruction of other peoples property and equipment.
Newbies don't try this!

I guess the road wasn't wide enough for a u-turn.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
It was if he had backed up about 75 feet!NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Wow lol. I bet he was going to just say that another truck backed into him hoping he would get away with it. Obviously a new driver who is an idiot. I hope that he will never drive again.
-
Just think, right now another new driver somewhere is doing the exact same thing.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Yup, in fact it seems that those low bridges always cause problems I don't think it would cost that much to increase the height of a bridge or lower the road another foot and that would solve most of these problems. Or a cheaper solution is to have flashing lights saying low bridge and where to detour like they do in some areas in Maryland. Also another cheap idea is to add a spot to do a u turn before the bridge. You always see an idiot or new guy just drive and bam there is a low bridge and they have traffic behind them so they have no idea what to do.

Is'nt that the truth though. What the heck are these guys thinking.Don't anyone read signs anymore. If you look at that video there is a turn around there.Which my guess would be usa isn't the only one that has done this.In trucking you always have to be on your toes for the unexspected and come up with a plan real quick. What some ppl do when they encounter a low bridge like 13"5" is drop the air bags and go thru,But of course with this bridge no way no how would that have worked.
NavigatorWife and NewNashGuy Thank this. -
That's what I noticed too, the camera man was sitting in a nice wide area. Just a simple strait back and he'd have had room.
Then again, the video would be different, with the camera man running for his life. -
Looked like the driver might have been a student? And the trainer woke up half way through
