I prefer a 3lb hammer, it is legal everywhere, hurts a lot more than a baton or thumper, and you don't have to explain where you got it or why you have it.

I carry 2 cans of hornet spray, the stuff that shoots out like 20' in a stream, and a nice alum ball bat. The spray knocks them down, the bat knocks them out....I consider it pest control!! Fortunately never had to use it.

FYI, for those who conceal carry with a permit, Federal law allows you to travel through states where your permit is not valid as long as you don't stop. If you do stop for whatever reason then the state law takes priority again.

I carry a hammer and cheater bar in the cab.

Remember your fire extinguisher can be a good tool.

My preference in this area is for multi use items that do not raise an eyebrow with the Leo's

Was going to say I don't think any states handgun permit is accepted by all states...correction CCW. In the great state of Nebraska you have to pay $5 and fill out an application to even purchase a handgun, then pay somebdoy to take a shooting class that carries on time and cost. Mine was a whopping 8 hours and I paid $100. Then you have to pay the state patrol to run a background check, and they give you a 5 year card to the tune of $100. Out the door cost just to protect yourself? $205 money well spent as far as I'm concerned. My permit is accepted where I need it to be and where I am the most that's all I care about.

This subject refers to the Federal Law,,,2nd,,, I don't understand why any company will say during orientation,,"know weapons in truck?1" Why do companies's say that?,,,It is MY right to protect myself! Surely, everyone agree's with that??????????
