Can a guy buy new hubs to convert an old axle from spoke to hub pilot?
I am buying a stainless tank and anything used is in the $30000 to $40000 range with hub pilot wheels.
these stainless tanks last forever, so id like to buy an older one and convert it when the tires wear out to save $ and hassel when working on it.

You can swap over the entire used hub assembly. New is going to be pricey.
We changed over a few dump trucks. -
Thanks, ill check the bone yards

If you find who the manufacturer is of your original hub, with the part number, you can call that manufacturer and they will tell you the new part number you need.mikec265 Thanks this.

Well as long as i dont get a tank with propar axles i have hubs and wheel lined up cheap(scrap price). I might even buy a storage van for the parts and storage space. my 40x60 ft garage isnt big enough. I really would like to convert to anti lock brakes as well if i can.

I've never seen propar axles converted, they run odd bearings. I don't know if they can be, I have just never seen a hub for them for hub pilot wheels, but they may exist. Propars are easily identified by the clear plastic screw on hub caps. For ABS, you can get a Haldex retrofit system in the $400-500 range.

From my understanding later fruehauf trailers used hub pilot hubs on propar axles.
