I never said i was knowledgeable about every part of my truck. Like I said before, I only advise on the parts i am knowledgeable on. Thanks to everyone's help I'm still learning. I did post a thread about the RPM for idle a while back and got answers from regular idle to 1400 rpm. I kinda felt 750ish was in the middle. Its enough to keep oil pressure up and but not burn 2 gallons per hour. When I noticed the smoke the most, was when it was idling at 1000 rpm to test the fuel system in a shop.

I got a 14L, not a 12.7, but on mine, dipstick, fill, and blowby hose are all on left.

HA! Now my brain clicked! The '06 engines have a second filler on the top left front, came off the front cover, I think. The blowby tube comes down from that housing along the front of the engine.

    Cetane+ Thanks this.
