They may not understand that either or think it has "another reason".......:biggrin_2554:

If you think that's bad you should these two guys working from company I'm in with brand new Freightliners. My CEO had a laugh about this, til two days laters we had brokers sending us pic messages of one truck hitting a bridge, in Chicago, on his way to pick up a the first load, and other one calling crying after 2 weeks, a 19 year expirience driver ####### up the whole truck in a big empty parking lot at night hitting a light pole..lol.. I hope people can learn from mistakes!

Some people will never gain the mental ability to learn.
The driver in the video should have NEVER passed a driving test...PERIOD!
Sad to think these driver mills put people on the road like that.

I never went to a driving school but have 30 years accident free except for a small puncture in a trailer roof from a tree limb.
That happened during a major thunder storm at night getting into a delivery location that i had been to many times.
The wind and weight of the tree being wet made that one limb hang lower than normal.
My boss considered it an act of nature and not an accident.

I have been a lucky guy for many years...."knock on wood"

Unfortunately most of those drivers think that refers to the temperature.

My company has something like that on their trailers. It's a useful tool... but only if you are looking. :biggrin_2551: In this guys case I think the only thing that may have worked would be one of those Wile E Coyote spring loaded boxing gloves popping out of the steering wheel.

I still doubt that would have knocked any sense in him!...:biggrin_2552:

I've been saying that from the beginning. Some people react different when they panic. The thing that geys me is everyone claiming the guy filming this tried to help. He motioned for the guy to come back. Whos to say the driver was looking and seen him. Maybe he should have tried approaching and offering to help.

Are you kidding me, with the way that clown was driving I wouldn't get within 100 feet of him. That is someone who is mentally unstable and in the process of snapping.

Hammer166, EZ Money and DsquareD Thank this.

I think he had already snapped!
Total lack of reasoning for sure. Just the fact there was a wide spot right behind him he could have backed into shows the guy was not playing with a full deck to start with.
It is a shame these CDL mills turn people loose with no more common sense than that. Just a warm body in the seat is all they care about.

The guy would have went nuts if he had to deal with some of the situations I have been in.
My first night pulling doubles i made a wrong turn in East Orange NJ and ended up on a dead end street full of homeless looking people at about 3 in the morning.
I had to break the set down, turn one pup around at a time and hook it all back up. I just knew i was going to get robbed!

I had to back down a mountain in San Jose one night in a Classic XL with a 53ft bed bug trailer.....that was wild too.
Biggest thing is keep your cool and deal with it....
