I was pretty happy with my fuel economy with this beer load I just delivered. 44K in the box, tail heavy, and I still was getting 7.9mpg. Hooray for downhill! Lolol. I was doing 75 at times in Kansas cause I just let her roll. I was happy I got unloaded promptly despite being late. I didnt want this load and at first was just hassling dispatch about it. Whrn I finally caved and committed, I got a new appointment time en route. But I was late because it took me 2.5 hours to get in and out of AB yesterday. Load was ready and I was hustling, but the usual lines at AB held me up. Better than last time though. Last time is was over 4 hours for a preloaded trailer because of lines and needing a rescale.
Odd thing scared the crud out of me as I was making the last couple turns into the receiver. Was making a right turn and in the middle of it, I heard a loud band that sounded like it was at thr back of my truck. I glanced back and it was nothing in the sleeper. I triple checked and of course didnt crush my cab extender on a simple right turn. I made a left into the receiver and heard another bang. I was now kinda freaking out. When I straightened up and set the breaks, I was eyeballing my mirrors hard and then my passenger side cab extender rubber looked really bizarre and my eyes got huge. Gave my BOL to thr guy who came out to cut the bolt seal and told him I needed to check something out... the passenger side door on the front of the reefer had come open! The driver side was still secure, but the pass side must have been ope fot a while today. The door scraped offvthe whole sticker on one of the bars on the back of the cab and kinda screwed up the spring on my airline keeper, but n damage to any equipment. The door was at that point stuck open, trapped outside my cab extender. I had to crank the tractor hard left to be able to close it. Stupid reefer.

Nope ...I would say that you aren't getting a break in between old and new job. Once you get going on the new job and begin to have regular time off don't be surprised when you realize how tired that you truly are. That is what has happened with the King, once he finally unwound he realized how beat up he had been. Now he's back to telling me how young he is!
