I understand, it's the higher-ups in every company and government entities like the FMCSR that continue to try and dummy-proof trucks with EOBR's and other nonsense. maybe instead they should focus on taking the dummy out of the driver's seat?

:yes2557: I wish you wouldn't have posted that video. I just had to click on it and now that stupid song will be in my head all day! Yes, everybody gets a chance because we don't want to hurt feelings. It's because of feelings that people who shouldn't be trusted on a bicycle should be trusted behind the wheel of a 40 ton tractor-trailer.

I used Qualcom with a co. now using Peoplenet with another.... Qualcom is much easier to work with and much, MUCH faster, more user friendly and doesn't take long to talk to customer service. Now Peoplenet is a big pain on the nerve.... :biggrin_25510:very user unfriendly, EXTREMELY slow, you always lose mins just changing status or doing your recap.... :biggrin_25510: And when you call, you are put on hold for at least 30 mins....:biggrin_25510: Every upgrade they have been doing causes it to get slower and slower....:biggrin_25510: If you don't pay attention to it, you will get in violation, driving over your hr, etc. Peoplenet is not practical and it requires more "intellect" to work with than Qualcom. My co. uses Peoplenet and some say it's because DOT likes it more than Qualcom.... I totally HATE Peoplenet. :biggrin_25510: My co. said Peoplenet costs $ 1700.00... so.... we better be "gentle" with it....

I prefer paper logs, as I don't have to worry about it crashing and then having to scramble to get my last 7 days faxed or emailed, it doesn't do goofy things if I move across the parking lot, doesn't log me on when I open it, or screw up in any way . . . currently on e-logs, and it's the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Stay away from the JJ Keller software! That is what we are on, and it is a joke.

Actually, NO e-logs does not help your score at all. Anyone that has to rely on a "score" is just playing the government game. Preferring paper logs doesn't make one a rebel, it means that one can actually do their job without having their hand held. I didn't have to worry about getting caught with "logs not current" when I was on paper because it was really easy to grab my log book and draw a little line when I stopped and just before I took off again. Better than having to grab some electronic gadget that requires 5 steps to do what I can do with a paper log in one.

Because by keeping the "dummy" in the driver's seat they have more reason to control the "dummy" . . .:biggrin_25521:

i didnt know that "driving real slow" or "less than a mile" was legal when you are logged as in the sleeper or off-duty?

That's right, and the rest of us who refuse to be controlled will continue to be punished for the "dummy's" actions. Life isn't fair.
