Could a head gasket failure cause 2 pistons and liners to be severely scored and the other 4 pistons to have the second ring stuck? This is an 04 C15.
Common head gasket failure????

Which hole did it blow? #6? You will want to overhaul it now anyway, if the pistons are scored then so are the liners. Make sure you check the counter bore on all six holes at 4 different places, and I would go ahead and have all of them cut and shimmed. Get er done right and she'll last you along time.

Scored 1 & 4. It' already back running again. This happened on the 2nd inframe with about 190k on it.
puncher Thanks this. -
I'm sorry for armchair quarterbacking, didn't know you already had her going. I hope you checked that protrusion.
Sumothertrucker Thanks this. -
I appreciate any input. Just trying to figure out if the amount of damage is common. It seems extreme.

I just went through this warranty inframe at 412000 at 510000 blew a head gasket 34000 later another head gasket ,pulled liners counter bores was a mess very bad erosion cut all 6 and inserts installed it is right now all the dealer did was get it out of warranty !
puncher and Sumothertrucker Thank this. -

Well....The rest of the story is....It was on the dyno when it went and I was not present. It has a PDI stage 1 tune, turbo, manifold and big cam which I explained to them before hand and asked them not to over do it. I was hoping to hear some one say this amount of damage is severe for a head gasket. I'm not sure if the gasket was destined to fail or not but I'm pretty sure if it would've went while I was driving it, there wouldn't have been that severe of damage. I'm trying to get them to pay for my down time due to excessive abuse is what I'm really after. They ended shoving the repairs through warranty but I just don't feel this should have happened to start with.
