What's up with T/A and their "Parking Reservations" ?!?!?

I have been to this many times, the front half of the middle row is reserved parking. the thing at this location is many guys will leave their truck there and go home that live nearby. the reserved parking actually frees up parking for some folks, also if you pull oversize the reserved parking is a wonderful thing.

and stexan what in the world does not having enough money to fork out 11 bucks for a parking spot have to do with the government?????


fact is, if the day comes when I cant afford to sheel out 11 bucks for anything I am gonna reassess and see what I am doing wrong, my point being if you are on the road and that short of money, you need to reassess your job if a company driver, your business model if a o/o. and you will be surprised at the guys that camp at the truckstop and spend no money.

myself I make money, I simply use the reserved parking fee as a tax write off, by the way , I already got a reserved spot for next wed night before my delivery in ny next week.

you use the t/a app to reserve parking or you can do it at a kiosk at t/a petro. same app I use to reserve a shower while still at the fuel island or getting off the exit before I am even in the truckstop

 

no thanks, I prefer the old torch t/s at the wire road exit 42, old and rundown, like me

 

Didn't like it at first, but love it now. When I know I'm gonna be late ill open the app make my reservation and then claim the money on taxes at the end of the year

 

no if ya do it over the phone you pay then with credit or debit, non-refundable. you can get one after you arrive. they always send me a e-mail with the truckstop number, you call when ya get there and they send someone out to move the sign for you to park

 

there ya go driver, it is a useful tool. as you might can tell I love it.

 

When people ask to be abused and taken advantage of, they will be abused and taken advantage of in ever-increasing ways. That's all I'm saying.

lol, I guess like the t/a and petro's of the world ASK for untold amounts of trash to be thrown down on their lots. things like this are not a result of people asking to be taken advantage of but of some people taking advantage of others and their property.

I simply don't look at me being entitled to a parking spot, the parking lot belongs to t/a , they can do with it as they like, its my choice then whether to patronize them or not.

if they choose to put reserve spots out for pay only, then its my choice to use them or not, if I roll in and the only spots left are paid ones , then its my choice to use them or not.

I just happen to have made other choices in my life that enable me to pay extra for certain perks, and I guess liking it is the wrong word, I in fact love it

TA is offering a service you can use or not
government isn't in charge of the parking spots
I wouldn't go to northern nj without reserving a spot
I spent $216 on reserved parking so far this year
and probably another couple hundred on motels to have parking
but I take my needs (wants or desires) seriously
if I wanted to camp out on the road I would get a tent
