Hello everyone,
I am looking for any new information on Sherman Brothers. Be it from current employees or past employees preferably within the last couple of years. I read some post on Sherman Brothers not much on here but they have all been old threads. They mostly look like disgruntled employees from our last recession/depression and you know how that goes, it seems like every company took a hit on here during the recession being that said it would seem that Sherman Brothers would be a good company to work for sense there is not a lot of info on them in here.
I am moving out to central Oregon and there are not a lot of flat bed companies out there that pay well. COTC has this new pay plan that I'm not to sure about but seems to start you off at 32 cpm. Every other company that pays good doesn't want me to take the truck home to the Bend area. They all want me to drive to Portland or somewhere up north in my personal vehicle to get back into the truck. I really want to find something local but that is just going to have to come with time because all the junk truck companies that are hiring want experience and every other company seems to be not hiring.
So these are my list of questions for anyone who is currently or a past employee or knows someone who is working for them that can pass them on.
1. How is the company on maintaining their trucks and trailer?
2. Do their trucks have APU's?
3. Do they have an idle time policy?
4. What are their trucks governed at?
5. Their recruiter says "get you home every week to every other week" is that true?
6. How is their lease/purchase program?
7. What are the average miles per week?
8. What is the percentage of tarping?
These are some pretty basic questions and I could probably get most of them from the recruiter but just take it that I have some trust issues and would like to get them answered by a driver. So please no smart remarks on how I could get most of these answered by a recruiter or past forums I have read being that they are all old news.
Thank you in advance and be safe out there.

I'm currently with COTC, got a thread over on the favorite company board. I started at .33 a mile with a little under 2 years experience. I'm on the quad fleet and so far I'm not complaining. Can't speak for Sherman Brothers as I haven't spoken to any drivers except for one who did drive there but he is now on COTC quad fleet, met him in Calgary.
Good luck with the move driver.Kash6972 Thanks this. -

A few months but the miles are there. I'm home every weekend and I'll be hitting mileage bonus this month. Right now I'm averaging .48 cpm since I've been there. No OD but the quads haul up to 105, 500 lb. They get an extra .05 cpm on top of base pay. Tarping is a big chunk of income, plus Canada crossings on this fleet. This week alone I'll be making an extra $150 in tarp pay and Canada pay, plus 2900 miles. I wish they paid more for tarping, I feel like the drivers would be happier and it would attract more prospective drivers.
This is my first flatbed gig and I'm enjoying it so far.Kash6972 Thanks this. -
