I have heard others on TTR recommend that you vary the inspection time and say to take 30 min because some DOT say that there is no way you can only do 15 min for an inspection. I guess DOT expects you to go through everything with a fine tooth comb and magnifying glass. I think most truckers would perhaps say the 15 is plenty of time for it to be done.

 

meanwhile, for them to do an inspection, it takes two people and a pit, and make sure its not raining and there is sufficient light

 

I tested the Rand McNally TND760 it is a very good unit that combines all the HOS and messaging features into one of their 7 inch GPS units.
