If I go back, ill probably shoot for a small company around 10-20 trucks. I go into see my doctor on Thursday so ill see what he has to say. I feel ive matured to the point where its worth to give one final shot. I'm considering putting in for a dock position of SEFL. Yes my accomplishments have been great and I'm proud to even be able to drive compared to some of fellow people who still have their parents chauffeur them around or take the bus. I've considered getting my passenger endorsement and trying for a job like Greyhound. I feel trucking has endless opportunities; its just I need to find an understanding employer who will the time to mentor me into a productive driver.
I need help

That sounds like a better plan. The large companies have a "world" of issues that oftentimes are hard to deal with and in many cases you are just a number. Some are better than others, but a smaller local company may provide a more personal operation, with added flexibility.

Heres my thought:
I've made mistakes. I should have never went to Millington two and half yrs ago as it only made me worse. Acouple of members who remember that will vouch for it. However whats done is done. I can only hope someone kind and understanding gives me a chance. Personally, id love to find a company that trains me solo. I do better and learn better that way. I do not know if any of you remember Hurst working for Apergis. He abandoned his truck in Miami. I will not work for an employer like that nor work a horror story. I have all the time to select a company that fits me.FLATBED Thanks this. -
See if there are any places like a janitor supply company. Newell Paper here in Alabama delivers janitor and paper products to places like schools, and other businesses. Sometimes they have to help load the truck or get it ready the night before. It is a daily route here going to whatever places they deliver to each time out. It is not out of state and you are home nightly. Things have to be unloaded on a doilly or handtruck. Something like this maybe less stressful and smaller company wise.
I don't think your dr knows what it is like to drive a truck and the stess a person is under daily. Do not let him get you into a position that you are unable to handle just because you are on disability. What you have can be dealt with if you do it the right way and don't let it unhinge you.The Challenger, Leftlane101 and KW Cajun Thank this. -
Good luck to you....I hope you find the perfect fit.....it's hard, but if you want it to happen, you can make it happen!

Since none of the older members have said anything, I will.
We both know what your problem was, and it was not your maturity or lack of.
If you haven't done anything to correct the real problem, then expect the same results, again.
Honestly, your cdl is stale, and a refresher may help you, but I doubt it. You could use complete retraining.
Sorry, if this reply ticked you off.
It was not my intent.
Good Luck Hunter. -
I hope you fail!!!! Fail to give up!!! Lol. You and I had talked about this. Make sure you're really ready. I know how bad you want it. But don't worry about not making it the first or even the third time. Don't stress. Think about what it means to you. Remember. You've got a lot of friends here. We have faith in you.
. Good luck my friend and you know you can get a hold of me for any questions.
