Newbies don't try this!

I did a similar thing once in NJ (not with doubles). I had only been driving a couple of weeks.

It was early morning and still dark. After getting out and sizing up the situation I realized that the only option was to back up into a busy street, which is forbidden by my company, unless you have a spotter.

The cool thing that happened next while I was gathering my composure this fellow walks up to me and says, "you need to back up." I was a bit shocked at Mr. Obvious' statement and after we talked a bit he asked where I was going. He offered to have me follow him back to where I needed to go. Then he walked out into traffic, held his hand up in front of a city bus and guided me back.

After that, I don't care what anyone says about NJ, I've met some very pleasant and helpful people there.

And you are absolutely 100% correct when you say "keep your cool".

I had that happen to me once too up in the north east, I can't remember the name of the town but it is one where you have the loop back that gets on the interstate in the direction you want to go where you make a left turn to get on the interstate and hook around and then there was a frontage road on the right that looked a lot like an onramp, well guess which one I took!

Went 1/4 mile and the road dead ended into a house, I had to back up quite a ways, found a driveway that was just long enough to back my trailer into, wasn't long enough to turn all the way around though so I backed it in, dropped it, turned around and hooked up to it pulling out the other direction. That was a nice waste of an hour.

No homeless guys, but I could swear I heard dueling banjos.

Wow. I can't even justify this as inexperience. I have been driving for 2 years and I can tell you on day 1 I would NEVER have done this. To damage someone else's equipment in such a way is unforgivable. I wouldn't trust this guy to drive a go kart. I have gotten in some bad places before but wow. I subscribe to the hitchhikers guide motto, "don't panic". There is always a solution to any problem. Some are better than others and it just takes some common sense (something that is not to common anymore) to find an acceptable one. I give this video a fail.
