Very helpful advise. I'm looking to lease out my crude oil tractor trailer. I have a 2007 9900i tractor with 71100 miles and a 2012 Polar trailer dot 407. A friend of mine leased his out to a small co and seems to be doing well for himself but I'm concerned about the amount hes says he getting.

With TransX I was running Calgary- El Paso- Missisauga- Calgary for a total of 5300 miles give or take. Two and a half times a month. The month would usually change mid trip It gave me an average of about 13000 a month. Still they had me sitting too much in Winnipeg when I could have been home with Momma in Calgary

Wow...How often were you doing basic maintenance on your truck, changing oil, with that many miles a month? Tires?

We have a major service, which includes oil changes and such, every 25,000 miles. Every 12,500 miles the truck gets a minor service. (Basically grease job with fluid checks and top ups.)

I'm still on my first set of tires at 72,000 miles.

    Oh, and I'm a lease/op at TransX.

Thank you have helped out a lot. How much do you pay for tires? I'm looking into 10qty 11r 22.5. What am I looking at price for each?

I don't know what they would cost through the company, but I was looking at a set of michelins and one of the tire stores in Winnipeg said around $4500 for a set of 8 minus $100 each for the old tires if they were useable for recaps.

It was a little while ago that I checked, so my figures may be off a bit.

I think you'd be looking at $300 or so for each steer tire.

You'll be looking at about $500-$600 per steering tire. $300. barely gets you a recap.
