2 hours to get through watford city???? the town is only 1 mile long with a population of 5,000 people. LOL.

watford city is 30 miles from williston. but there IS a ton of traffic in that region of the state. and i dont mean just trucks either.

so, how's it going up there. i just left and am glad to be gone. not looking forward to going back up there again. TOO DANGED EXPENSIVE.

hope your living in the truck. seems to be what everyone is doing up there. long waits for showers in the day. best time is at night.

    dog-c Thanks this.

one has to wonder how desolate that state was before oil. cuz it don't seem like ANYONE actually lives there.

and i didn't see anyone getting raped at walmart. it's the only store with same pricing as the rest of the country.

I think they were talking literally, out in the parking lot. Not figuratively, at the checkout register...

Id like to know what the average cost to the employee is per week or Month at a camp? Im sure it varies with the type of Living arrangement , and does it include food. .. whats the subsidy ? Just curious , better company better Living arrangement ?

I don't think there is an average. It is all negotiable and relative to what your overall compensation is. I have been offered free and $ 1,000.00 per month. They are also starting to include 'free' housing in your compensation at the end of the year. Free housing that costs the company $ 1,500.00 per month will be added to your W-2's and will cost you about $ 450.00 per month in taxes.

Is that the tax law? if the company expenses the housing (which, of course, they will) it has to go on our W2s? Wondering about that since I'm paying for my house and don't want to pay taxes on $8,000 in apartment expenses needed just to do the job.

That is supposed to be on new tax returns because of O Bummer Care. Heard some accounting lady talking about it on radio. Either this year or next. Your healthcare cost to your employer may be on there and you will pay tax. Housing. Parking spaces/garages. Anything they can think of to crook that finger they are probing you with.
