How hard did you have to bounce the bed to get it to rattle out? :biggrin_25522:

Shelly, if it's all the debit card, it's just a matter of learning to better manage road expenses. Cash is the hard one to track. But unless there has been a jump in what he's spending, I doubt you have any thing to worry about.

As the other guys noted, $20 dollars a day isn't much in this time of $6-$7 dollar fast food meals.

If he makes good money and likes to eat good food, and has been driving for a long time, like in years, then he will know many places to go that many young and new truckers don't even know how to get into. So spending that kind of money is not out of the question. I would spend 18 to 27 dollars a day, that would include tips also. So does he like your cooking, I do not think he is buying lot lizards with his bank card. You know him better than the rest of us. If you can, maybe you should go on a trip with him and see what goes on. Most drivers overall, try not to spend any money, if they can help it, I've heard 10 to 12 dollars a day for new drivers just starting out with low pay. Does he carry food in the truck, does he have a refrigerator in the truck ? things like this might help answer some of your questions. Hope its just a big appetite. All THE BEST TO YOU !

I had three woman co drivers, should say two in a half, one of them liked to dress as a woman. So it is possible, even if running solo to find leftovers in the truck. Keep it to yourself, and check that bunk every time he comes home. PS, does he read this site ?

He joined yesterday. Add another $700 for a laptop and $50 for internet access. In another thread he asked us if it's normal for his significant other to spend $600 a month on shoes and clothes. :)

It's a marketing dream in truck stops and if one isn't real careful it's easy to spend a lot. I know many drivers that live on pay advances because they can't handle money. They see something they buy it and worry about being broke later. Then there is the gamblers that frequent casinos and will buy a roll of scratch off lottery tickets.

An experienced driver will avoid truck stops and do the grocery thing at Walmart. Teach him about financial responsibility and start a savings instead of reaming him out.
