I may know of a 377 set forward front axle that is in good enough shape I may aquire it for a hobby project. But I do not like the 377 hood on the sffa. Would a 379 hood, standard bbc fit? Or even an exhd if the bbc is the same as the 377? I think the 379 had a 119" and a 127" bbc, but I cant find definite answers on the bbc of the 377s.
    Thanks.

I think even with a set forward axle, it is still set farther back than a 379. We have a 377 with a set forward axle and some 379's too. 379's have a straight bumper that does wrap around the sides at all. The 377's bumper angles with the hood and wraps around about 2". Just eye balling, it looks like the wheel wells would be about 6" too far forward with a 379 hood.

Just a guess looking at the 2 trucks side by side today.

I was afraid on that. I guess I will have to go find a neighbor with a 379 and get some really accurate measurements. If it takes more that a hood replacement, I'm not interested. The only reason I am at all is this 377 is an ultra cab. And 377s go for about half or less than a 379. This is not for commercial use, just a hobby project.

Another option I saw once was to cut the glass fenders off and graft on glass 379 fenders. The one I saw was rough but it looked like the idea had potential to look ok.

Hmmm,.....that is an idea I had not thought of. May have to look into that a bit further. I did see a lot of cool 379 fenders available. Thanks.
