    IronPony,

Holy ####, the wait WAS worth it! Took awhile, and a lot of legwork, but.......Just got approval sent. I'm definitely stoked now, as was my first preference. I can pass the others by now. Michigan would have been too cold anyway! ;)

Never YOUR first concern, and I neglected to make it one of MY concerns, but........ I now have minimal post requirements for PM's. If it is still possible after acceptance, I would really like to get your info to them, as far as referrals go. I'll gladly tell you whom my recruiter was in a PM. It WAS your thread here that provided me with the info I needed to make my decision. The others trainers, I can't thank enough. But, it was your thread, and all the info you provided along the way that meant the most in my decision.

Thank you SO MUCH, and I hope to possibly meet you at some point along the way. Keep on, keeping on here. I think it does a lot more good than even YOU realize.

    Peace, My Friend.

    Greetings Truckers of Prime, inc.

I am considering working for Prime, inc. in 2014. My question is: Would it be better to take the CDL training that Prime, inc. offers at their Springfield, Mo. location or Attend CDL school and obtain CDL license before applying for employment at Prime, inc.?

I'm not driving for Prime, yet. But, will comment on my own personal circumstance in case it may or may not help.
If you are definitely decided on Prime as sole choice, I would say forgo the full CDL classes as would be a waste of money. Go and pass your initial written tests and you will be that much more ahead of game when you get there. It will definitely NOT hinder you in any way, but you will still have to go through their training anyway. Just not to the extent that you would have to coming in fresh. Remember, just getting the CDL does not equate with experience, though. Go over the first few pages of this thread, and it will pretty well go over all that.
I would suggest going through a REPUTABLE school for CDL first if you desire more options available to you at first get go, if that is the case. You would definitely have more options to pick from, especially if you want to stay local, or things along those lines. But, if really decided on Prime..... save yourself the money in my opinion. I DID want to go the private CDL route, but am unable due to circumstance. Well, I actually COULD if really necessary, but decided on Prime out of several Co's for my own personal reasons. They fit for my own personal circumstance in too many ways too pass up. That may not be true for others. I can say that they are a good company from what I have found, if they do suite your circumstances.
Don't know how much you have investigated, nor your back round, so take my comments for what you will. Just my personal situation. Hope it may possibly help. Do take the time to diligently research what you are trying to do. Your off to a great start asking questions, and apparently you have already checked into schools.

I wish you luck and hope this may have helped in some way.

    Peace

My money is betting on you getting a more knowledgeable reply here from trainer or driver, and trust them much more than calling myself. But, my experience has been pretty good with their recruiters. Maybe I just got a good one. But, give them a call with your questions. Sure they will be able to answer at least this adequately.

    Peace
